Our Sustainability and Environmental Statement

In all businesses today, sustainability and concerns for the environment are becoming critical areas for improvement, and the leisure and event industries are no exception. As such, EPS endeavour to perform as an economically sustainable company.

As service providers, we at EPS feel it is important to assist our clients with developing and maintaining sustainable approaches to economically power their events and commercial premises. Some time ago Event Power Services Ltd. took on board the belief that these issues would be very important, both for themselves and their clients. We addressed these head-on and subsequently gained ISO 14001:2008 accreditation in 2010.

As an organisation, we maintain a constant review process of internal operations and how they may impact the environment; we have developed new systems for accurately planning power consumption and generator systems for minimising fuel consumption and emissions.

We are aware that every business has the responsibility and opportunity to have a positive impact on the environment. We will always advise our clients on suitable, environmentally friendly alternatives to lighting, generator fuel and battery technologies to run a more sustainable event.

Our internal commercial efforts are illustrated as below;

• Recycling appropriate materials, including paper, general waste, electrical components and scrap metal
• Reducing emissions from corporate vehicles by eliminating unnecessary journeys
• Planning deliveries and collections of goods and materials to site in an efficient way (i.e. making as few trips as possible)
• Encouraging car-share schemes with employees
• Using recyclable packing where possible
• Utilising our office technology and document management to eliminate the use of paper where possible
• Sourcing office consumables and commercial materials from sustainable sources where possible
• Considering the environmental impact when choosing suppliers of goods – using local sources when possible to reduce transport
• Using low energy and environmentally friendly equipment requiring less power when possible

Our new Leader LED lighting range is a great example of how EPS are making a conscious effort to move away from traditional lighting applications and towards low energy, sustainable and modern, technologically advanced lighting.
