The Championships at Wimbledon, or simply Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is considered the most prestigious.
With the tournament taking place over two weeks in late June and early July, it is a busy month for the Metropolitan Police and EPS alike.
With a demanding 1 day deadline to turn an empty playing field into a fully functioning Rest & Recreation area for the Metropolitan Police, our team did a fantastic job of supplying all power distribution to offices, CCTV stations, canteens, caterers and most importantly the air conditioners and ensure they were fully functioning and ready for the grand slam event.
Even the searing summer heat didn't manage slow our team down. Match point to EPS.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is famed around the world and has a unique place in the history of policing. It is by far the largest of the police services that operate in the greater London area.
EPS are proud to provide temporary power solutions to the MPS when they are dispatched from HQ to police events held throughout a diverse, cultural and sprawling London and often branching out across the UK for special operations.
We provide all power distribution for what is known to the officers as Rest & Recreation areas, created solely for the use of the MPS when they are off-duty and on scheduled breaks from the beat. This can include providing power to mobile office units, important CCTV stations and floodlighting as well as canteens, common areas and coffee machines.
The Metropolitan police serve the communities of London with more than 33,000 officers together with about 14,200 police staff, 270 traffic wardens and 4,700 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).
With the temporary power supplies EPS provide to the police service for public and sporting events, such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and the Notting Hill Carnival, we are pleased to be supporting The Metropolitan Police in helping to keep crime to a minimum for a safer London.
EPS are also listed by The Metropolitan Police as Emergency Responders. Should there be a national emergency; EPS are poised to provide The Metropolitan Police with any available resources to keep their operations powered.
